Wordpress plug ins are overwhelming because it is an open source platform. That means that they allow anyone to write scripts, plug ins, or create themes and offer them for free or for sale.
So rather than confuse you with a million different plug ins, let’s start with the 2 basics.
Google sitemap xml
SEO Platinum
Depending on which geek you talk to, they will tell you to use a different google sitemap, or a different SEO plug in.
The critical key is that you need to make sure Google can index your site, which is what Google Sitemap does. You also want to give your website and blog or pages the best chance of being picked up and placed on page one for your most important search terms.
SEO Platinum is the plug in that I use for this purpose.
